Australia had set a challenging target of 338 runs, with Phoebe Litchfield scoring 119 and Ellyse Perry contributing 77. India’s chase got off to a shaky start, losing Shafali Verma early, but Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues steadied the ship.
Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur (89) put on a crucial 167-run partnership, guiding India towards victory. Rodrigues’ century was her maiden in Women’s ODIs, and she remained unbeaten on 127.
With this win, India has entered the World Cup final, where they will face South Africa. India’s victory marks the highest successful chase in Women’s ODI history, surpassing the previous record.
The match was played at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, with India registering their first successful 300-plus chase in a World Cup knockout .
