. The crown of the world’s richest person has now gone from Elon Musk to Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison. After Oracle’s strong quarterly results, the company’s shares jumped tremendously on Tuesday night, increasing Ellison’s wealth by $101 billion in one go. According to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, Ellison’s total wealth is now $393 billion, while Musk’s net worth is $385 billion.
Oracle’s shares also saw a rise of up to 40 percent on Wednesday. The demand for the company’s cloud services and especially contracts related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasing rapidly. This is the reason why Ellison’s wealth has now registered the biggest single-day jump in history.

Elon Musk won the title of the world’s richest person for the first time in 2021 and remained in this position for most of the time. At times, he also lagged behind Bernard Arnault and Jeff Bezos, but quickly made a comeback. This time, however, the power of Oracle and AI has brought Larry Ellison to the top.
