During the Cold War, the Soviet Navy did indeed provide military training to marine creatures like dolphins, whales, and sea lions to detect enemy divers, locate naval mines, and conduct intelligence espionage. Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, this technology and some of these creatures allegedly fell into the hands of other countries, which is why today, amidst modern warfare, this horrific rumor is once again threatening the world as if it were the truth.
