US President Donald Trump seems uncertain at the diplomatic level. There is no assurance of what he will say and when. There is no long-term vision in his diplomacy. One day he says something and the next day he says something else, but recently, Donald Trump made a post on social media, which increased the confusion all over the world.
Trump wrote, ‘We have lost India and Russia to China.’ Now the question is why Trump wrote this. Is this Trump’s fear, or a new drama. Is it remorse for the deteriorating relations with India, or is it his jealousy of the changing equations of Russia-China-India.
Trump posted a picture on Truth Social in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping are seen together. With this picture, he wrote, ‘It seems that we have lost India and Russia to the evil China. I wish their alliance is long and happy.’ The question is, what does Trump really want to say ?
. Has Trump realized his mistake regarding tariffs, or is he trying some new trick to build pressure? But the more likely possibility is that Trump is upset with the growing closeness between India-Russia-China. The most recent reason for his trouble is a picture, when Prime Minister Modi met Putin and Xi Jinping at the SCO summit. The Prime Minister also had bilateral talks with Russian President Putin, in which an agreement was reached to further strengthen the relations between the two countries. Not only this, the three countries together also gave a befitting reply to America’s threats.
Prime Minister Modi has already said that no matter how much pressure anyone puts, India will protect its interests and will not bow down at any cost. Xi Jinping also gave a strong message to Trump and said that we are not afraid of any threat. Putin showed Trump the diplomatic mirror and explained to America that China and India cannot be talked to in a threatening tone.
After these tough attitudes, perhaps Trump realized that his pressure strategy will no longer work, but he understood this very late. Many analysts and leaders in America had already warned him about this, but how could Trump agree to anything so easily ?
American analyst Ed Price had said that if China, Russia and India come together in any kind of economic and military alliance, then America will not be able to compete with them in the 21st century.
At the same time, former US NSA Jake Sullivan has said that if our friends and the world decide that there is no need to trust America in any way, then it will not be in America’s interest. What India is doing has serious direct implications, but it will also impact all other global partnerships.
Mike Pence has said that the Trump administration is celebrating the fact that American families will see an increase of about $3,000 in the prices of goods because we are paying that. That’s why I have called it ‘Liberation Day’.
The American media has also termed Trump’s tariff decision as wrong. Many American media say that if America closes its markets by imposing big tariffs on India, then India will have to find other places to sell its exports. Just as Russia has found new markets to sell its energy, India will sell its exports not to America, but to BRICS countries.
The Indian Foreign Ministry has currently refused to comment on Trump’s statement. It is possible that India will respond to this soon. However, the Foreign Ministry commented on the statements of Trump’s advisor Peter Navarro and called Navarro’s statements misleading.
After India, now Trump has also started attacking the countries of Europe. After the recent meeting in Paris, he spoke to the leaders of the European Union (EU) and put pressure on Europe to stop buying Russian oil. Trump said that Russia’s army is getting stronger by buying Russian oil. Countries like Hungary and Slovakia are still buying oil. The atmosphere was quite heated during this conversation. European leaders clarified that they are buying less Russian oil than before.
