Indians are becoming disillusioned with America! As a result, the number of Indians traveling to America for any purpose, be it for work or education, has decreased significantly. Excluding the Covid period, the number of Indians traveling to America has decreased for the first time since 2001.
This makes it clear that the relationship between India and America has started a continuous downward trend.
In such a situation, the “love” of America by Indians is also gradually decreasing. Compared to the previous year, the number of Indians traveling to America, considering it a dream world, has decreased in 2025.
Trump’s policies are also considered the main reason for the decline in Indian travel to America. This number has been decreasing since Trump became president.
The number of Indians traveling to America had been increasing continuously since 2001. During this period, only a decrease in the number of trips to America was recorded during the Covid period, because at that time the entire world was in a state of standstill.
According to the report, about 210,000 Indians traveled to the United States in June 2025, down from 230,000 in June 2024.
According to data from the US Department of National Travel and Tourism, July 2025 saw a 5.5 percent decline compared to the previous year.
The number of people traveling to the US has decreased since President Donald Trump came to power. This decrease is not only for Indians, but people from other countries of the world are also reluctant to travel to the US.
According to the report, the number of non-Americans traveling to the US has been continuously decreasing for the past few months. In June, the number fell by 6.2 percent, while in May it fell by 7 percent.
Notably, the number of Indians traveling to the US is very high among the people traveling to the US worldwide. In this regard, India is in fourth place after the US border countries Canada, Mexico and the UK.
Apart from these four countries, Brazil also plays a big role among the people traveling to the US. According to NTTO, about 59.4 percent of the travelers coming to the US are from these countries.
Travel agencies have a slightly different attitude towards the decreasing number of Indians. They say that it would be premature to say that the increasing difficulties in visas and Trump’s policies have reduced the number of Indians coming to the US.
However, if Trump’s policies continue, this number will definitely be affected. According to experts, the biggest reason for this is the irregularity of B-1 and B-2 visas.
These visas are available for ten years on validity. In such a situation, those who currently have these visas can travel to the US continuously, but this number will decrease further as the rules for obtaining new visas increase.
