The more life flourishes on Earth, the greater the threat of extinction. Space contains many objects capable of destroying the entire Earth. Humans have even launched so many satellites that, if they collide, they could cause significant damage to Earth.
The Age of Modernity
The era of modernity is underway. Major changes are being witnessed daily. New modern inventions are benefiting human civilization, but are also causing significant harm to the environment and space.
The Age of Satellites
Human civilization has launched countless satellites into space to explore space, helping advance technology. However, this has led to the accumulation of space debris. This poses no less than a major threat to Earth.
Satellites have become junk
Launched satellites have now become junk. Now human forces are afraid that if these junks collide with each other in any way, they can cause huge destruction on earth.
How many satellites are currently in orbit?
The process of sending satellites into space began in 1957, and thousands of satellites have been launched since then. This is continuously increasing space debris. Space is divided into three parts, each with a different number of satellites orbiting.
Earth’s Three Orbits
Earth has three orbits, where 8,700 satellites are currently active. The first orbit has 5,900 satellites active, also known as the low orbit. The second orbit has 10,000 satellites, and the third orbit has between 30 and 35,000 satellites active.
Each satellite has its own shelf life
When satellites are launched, their lifespan is predetermined. At the appointed time, each satellite automatically becomes junk and continues orbiting in its own orbit. However, this situation can prove detrimental to the Earth.
Destruction on Earth-
Humans have released over 130 million pieces of debris into space, which are constantly floating. Experts believe that these fragments could explode upon collision. Or, if these fragments were sent toward Earth, they could pose a threat to the tribes living there. Like the dinosaurs, other species could also be harmed by space.
