Nowadays, deep questions are being raised regarding India’s internal security: what were an American, Matthew VanDyke, and 6 Ukrainians doing in Mizoram? Why did the NIA take them into custody? Who are American Matthew VanDyke and the 6 Ukrainians who came to stage a coup in India ?
It is a matter of great astonishment that while India is not involved in any country’s regime change, why Matthew VanDyke and 6 Ukrainians were busy trying to “finish off” Prime Minister Narendra Modi and topple the government ! The security agencies must provide an answer to this. Were they trying to do to him what they did to Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro ?
The NIA apprehended these six Ukrainian nationals from several major transit points, including Delhi and Lucknow. Additionally, an American citizen was detained from Kolkata airport, identified as Matthew VanDyke. Cases have been registered against all of them under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Training Militants in Myanmar
This conspiracy linked to India’s Northeast region is now gaining diplomatic momentum. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has detained six Ukrainian nationals here. They are accused of entering Mizoram illegally and then traveling to neighboring Myanmar to provide combat training to militants. Cases have been filed against all of them under the Foreigners Act and UAPA.
Who is Matthew VanDyke?
All of them are accused of entering sensitive areas of India without permission. Among them is American citizen Matthew VanDyke, who has a history of fighting in conflicts across the globe. He fought against Gaddafi, took up arms against ISIS, and has a trail of exploits in Venezuela and Ukraine.
In this context, Indian intelligence agencies showed alertness and nabbed him. Most of the discussion surrounds Matthew Aaron VanDyke. Who exactly is this 46-year-old man who describes himself as a documentary filmmaker, former journalist, and “freedom fighter”?
Arrived in India on Tourist Visas
Understand the gravity of the subject—what has actually happened ? The NIA’s FIR and initial investigation make it clear that this matter is directly related to India’s national security and border areas. The investigation revealed that VanDyke and his Ukrainian associates came to India on tourist visas. The Ukrainian nationals have been identified as Petro Hurba, Taras Slivyak, Ivan Sukmanovsky, Marian Stefankiv, Maxim Honcharuk, and Viktor Kaminsky. Although much information about these individuals has not been made public, the mention of Matthew VanDyke’s name caused a stir, as he is a well-known face associated with several notorious conflicts aimed at creating instability and coups on behalf of the US. He was also identified through his photographs.
Opinion of Former DGP Vikram Singh
Former DGP of Uttar Pradesh and one of the country’s senior-most security advisors, Vikram Singh, says that these people used to frequently ask when Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit Manipur so that he could be attacked.
According to Mr. Singh, since World War II, the US has been interested in interfering in other countries to topple governments and install puppets to seize their property, oil, and wealth, as seen in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Congo, Venezuela, etc. In the neighboring enemy country of Pakistan, it performed this feat by dishonestly overturning the elected government of former PM Imran Khan and arranging the power of Shehbaz Sharif and Asim Munir. In this way, since 1945, the US has toppled governments in 15 countries to install puppet regimes, just as it has spent $3 trillion over the last 40 years to loot oil from Arab countries by establishing bases, providing security to Israel instead of them.

First to Guwahati, then Mizoram
According to sources, 14 Ukrainian nationals arrived in India on tourist visas on different dates. They reached Guwahati and then went to Mizoram without the necessary documents. To go there, one must obtain a “Restricted Area Permit” (RAP) and “Inner Line Permit” (ILP). They not only went there without permission but, according to allegations, established contact with Ethnic Armed Groups (EAGs) active in Myanmar. Investigation agencies say these organizations are also linked to militant groups active in India’s Northeast. Their objective was to provide pre-planned drone warfare training to the ethnic armed groups in Myanmar.
Conspiracy Behind the Curtain
Although the NIA has reported the arrest of only 7 citizens, many more are yet to happen because, behind the scenes, these seven foreigners contacted ethnic armed groups and engaged in training activities. The police report states that these EAGs are connected to militant organizations in the Northeast. The investigation also revealed that this network was transporting large quantities of drones from Europe to Myanmar via India. It is remarkable—what are our security agencies doing that the matter reached this far !
Motive of Matthew and the Arrested Individuals
The NIA has alleged that this group was planning to supply weapons, train militants, and support training camps in Myanmar using drones imported from Europe, focusing on drone warfare, operations, assembly, and jamming techniques. VanDyke and his associates are accused of training Myanmar’s rebel groups in the use of weapons and drone operations.
According to the NIA, several armed groups active in Myanmar already have links with banned organizations in India. These groups are suspected of providing weapons, equipment, and training to Indian militant organizations, which is a matter directly related to national security.
How were Drones Sent Through Indian Territory ?
Now investigative agencies are trying to find out whether this network has any local connections inside India or if some Indians are also involved. How were the drones sent through Indian territory? Mobile phones seized during the arrest are being examined, and the accused will be taken to various locations for further investigation.
Warning Given in March 2025
In March 2025, Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma warned that mercenaries and former special forces members from the US and UK were entering Myanmar via Mizoram to train local groups fighting against the military government. Meanwhile, former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, before her government fell, also accused the US of wanting to create a Christian state in areas bordering India. In such a situation, the Indian government’s investigative agencies would not want to take this incident lightly. India must exercise extreme vigilance regarding its security.
