In today’s international politics, it would not be an exaggeration to say that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made India the hub of global diplomacy. At a time when the world is grappling with many crises – war in Europe, instability in the Middle East, challenges to the balance of power in Asia – almost every head of state is giving priority to dialogue with the Prime Minister of India. From social media to direct meetings, Modi is in constant touch with global leaders. The recent dialogue on social media with US President Donald Trump is not only a sign of personal cordiality, but also shows that influential faces of global politics want to connect directly with India. On the other hand, the visit of the Prime Minister of Mauritius to India proves that India is not only a neighbor but also a reliable partner in the Indian Ocean region.
Recent talks with countries like Italy, Qatar and Iran have made India’s role more clear. Some discuss peace and stability on the phone, while others emphasize on increasing the pace of India-Europe Free Trade Agreement. Some want anti-terrorism cooperation, while others are eager to connect with India’s technological and economic progress. This scenario shows that India is no longer a demanding nation but has become an inviting nation.
This active and balanced approach of Modi in global diplomacy is making India both a “mediator” and a “credible voice”. India is not only protecting its interests but also taking concrete initiatives on global challenges – be it climate change, terrorism or economic inequality. Today every country wants to join hands with India because Modi has established India not just as a regional power but as the pivot of global politics. This situation is not only a symbol of India’s growing power but is also a proof of our country’s decisive role in the changing world order. If we look at the diplomatic developments of this week in particular, it is clear that in the changing world scenario, India is no longer just another country but has become an indispensable partner for all countries.
Relations with Italy
The talks between Prime Minister Modi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on 10 September made it clear that India-Italy relations are now in a new phase of strategic partnership. Cooperation in areas such as investment, defence, science, education and counter-terrorism is not limited to bilateral relations, but it sends a message to the whole of Europe that India-EU relations will be decisive in the future global order. Italy’s enthusiasm for the India-EU Free Trade Agreement and cooperation in the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEEC) confirms this.
Talks with Qatar
The Prime Minister’s talks with the Emir of Qatar not only reflect India’s activism on regional crises, but also make it clear that India is now a credible player in the Middle East peace process. Condemning the Doha attacks and supporting Qatar’s mediation in the Gaza crisis are part of India’s policy in which it clearly opposes terrorism and emphasizes on finding solutions through dialogue and diplomacy. This sent a message that India is not just an energy-importer, but a friendly partner for regional stability.
East Asia Summit
At the preparatory meeting for the East Asia Summit in Malaysia, India not only assured constructive cooperation but also showed that India is at the forefront of providing solutions to Asia’s common challenges (energy, environment, education) by bringing forward initiatives like Mission LiFE and the Higher Education Conference to be held at Nalanda University.
India-EU Terrorism Dialogue
The 15th India-EU Counter-Terrorism Dialogue in Brussels is proof that India’s experience and solid approach on terrorism is getting global recognition. Europe’s stand with India on the Pahalgam attack and its resolve to work together on technical challenges ranging from stopping the financial flow of terrorism shows that India is now at the centre of security discussions.
Conversations with Iran
The India-Iran political consultations held in Tehran show that India is indispensable in the International Transport Corridor (INSTC) and connectivity projects. India is becoming not only a trade route but also a strategic bridge from West Asia to Central Asia and Europe.
Relations with the US
The recent interaction between Prime Minister Modi and US President Donald Trump on social media sent a message that the India-US partnership is not limited to formal diplomacy. This interaction not only reflects the personal proximity of the leadership of the two countries, but also indicates that India’s role in global politics is at the center of the US discourse, regardless of which party is in power.
India-Mauritius Relations
The visit of the Prime Minister of Mauritius to India highlighted India’s strategic depth in the Indian Ocean region. Mauritius has long been a cultural and political partner of India, but the recent talks gave rise to new possibilities in the areas of maritime security, digital cooperation and renewable energy. This indicated that India’s role in the Indian Ocean region is being accepted both as a net security provider and a development partner.
As far as the question is why India is now the center of global activities? The answer is that India has maintained dialogue with everyone, from the US and Europe to Russia, Iran and the Gulf countries. Apart from this, India is no longer a “spectator” but a “partner” on terrorism and regional conflicts. Also, through investment, trade and energy corridors, India is becoming an integral part of the global supply chain. Apart from this, India is also strengthening its soft power through Nalanda University, Mission LiFE and advocacy of global peace.
However, Prime Minister Modi’s diplomacy has made India important in every continent. From Europe to America, from the Middle East to the Indian Ocean – India is now active in all three capacities – a balancing power, a security partner and an economic engine. This is the same India whose voice is resonating not only in global conferences but also in social media conversations and maritime partnerships. Today’s India is truly the center of global activities – and the credit for this goes to Prime Minister Modi’s decisive and balancing foreign policy.
