The ongoing war in the Middle East has now reached a turning point from where the map of the entire world could change. Israel and the United States are together launching a four-pronged attack on Iran. Many Iranian ships have been sunk in the sea, and bombs are raining down on residential areas. On the other hand, Iran is also not silent and is targeting US airbases located in the Gulf countries with drones and missiles. But amidst this smell of gunpowder, news has emerged that has blown away the sleep of India’s neighboring country, Pakistan.
Pakistan on Mossad’s ‘Hit List’?
Discussion is intensifying among defense experts that after Iran, Israel’s next big target could be Pakistan. Retired Colonel Rajesh Pawar, making a big claim, said that Israel could target Pakistan at any time. The biggest reason behind this is the nuclear weapons possessed by Pakistan. Israel fears that Pakistan could hand over these weapons to its enemies.
Israel’s intelligence agency ‘Mossad’ is known for its precise planning. According to Colonel Pawar, Pakistan has not recognized Israel as a country to date and has always been a staunch opponent of Israel. Israel keeps a hawk-like eye on its enemies, and Pakistan’s nuclear power has always been an eyesore for it. Although Israel is currently busy in war on several fronts, experts believe that as soon as it is free from these fronts, its next target will be Pakistan.
Death of Supreme Leader and Now Attack on Son
Let us tell you that on March 2, in a fierce attack on Iran, the Supreme Leader there, Ali Khamenei, died. This attack shook the whole world. Now there are reports that Israel has targeted Khamenei’s eldest son, Mujtaba Khamenei. It is being told that Mujtaba has suffered serious injuries in this attack.
Although the Iranian media claims that Mujtaba has suffered minor injuries and is perfectly healthy, he has not appeared before the camera even once since the attack. Only his written statements are being released in the media. Israel’s history is witness that it never spares its enemy, be it Hamas or Hezbollah. It has so far bitten the dust for many top commanders.
Fear of Nuclear Weapons and Israel’s Strategy
Israel views Pakistan as an ‘enemy nation’. Defense experts believe that Israel’s strategy has always been of ‘preventive strike’, i.e., destroying the enemy even before they attack. Pakistan being nuclear-armed and the influence of radical forces there is a big security risk for Israel. This is the reason why a long-term plan regarding Pakistan is said to be already prepared in the files of Mossad.
Concerns of Experts
Altaf Parvez, a researcher of South Asian affairs, has discussed this subject deeply in an article. He says that at first glance, the possibility of an Israeli attack on Pakistan after Iran may seem unusual, but it cannot be completely ruled out. According to him, international organizations such as the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation are no longer as effective as before. In addition, the growing closeness between India and Israel is also becoming a cause of concern in Pakistan’s strategic circles.
Apprehensions of Pakistani Leaders
Pakistan’s policymakers and leaders have also expressed such concerns several times. Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said on March 3 that if Israel’s influence increases in Iran, it could have a direct impact on Pakistan. He also said that after Iran, Israel could try to weaken Pakistan together with India and Afghanistan. However, many experts have also raised questions on his statement.
