From the countryside to the city, everyone is in a state of excitement. The arrival of the Mother falls on the day of Krishna every year in the month of Ashwin. Then, a day after the Peetha, the Navadinaivani Puja of the Mother is celebrated in Medha.
Preparations are underway for the invocation of Jagjjanani. Today, on the occasion of Mulashtami, the sixteenth day of Puja has begun. All the Shakti Peethas of the state are in a state of excitement. Chandi is shaking with recitation and mantras. Puri’s Maa Bimala, Kakudikhai, Cuttack’s Gadchandi, Cuttack’s Chandi, Jhankar’s Maa Sharla, Jajpur’s Birja, Banki’s Charkika, Kalahandi’s Manikeswari, all the Shakti Peethas are worshipping the Mother according to their special rituals. Various rituals like Mangala Alati, Chandipatha, Surya Puja, Abakasha etc. have been performed since morning. From Mulashtami to Mahashtami, mantras will be chanted and Shakti Peethas will be vibrated.
Jagatsinghpur district is famous for its ancient Shakti Peetha, the temple of Mother Sharla. Parvan Puja has begun at the shrine of Goddess Maa Sharla Thakurani, the presiding deity of Banikshetra Jhankar. Puja is being performed in the sixteenth upachar with various beshas of Maa. Today, on the occasion of holy Mulashtami, Parvan Puja has begun at Maa Sharla’s shrine.
From today, Parvan Puja has begun at Maa Sharla’s shrine in Jhankar, Jagatsinghpur district. Like every year, this year too, Parvan Puja will be held at Maa’s shrine from Mulashtami to Mahashtami. This year, this puja is being held for 16 days. On this occasion, from today onwards, the Mother of the World will be adorned in various costumes and the sixteenth upachar puja, Chandi reading etc. will be performed.
Along with this, the Mother will be taken around in a specially equipped plane. The devotees and devotees have seen the joy of the besha during the Parvan. The arrival of devotees has started from now on. The temple is bustling with devotees. The worship of the Mother has started with the Chandi path in accordance with the rituals. The worship of the Mother is going on in the temple in accordance with the rituals with the sixteenth upachar puja.
In this regard, people from all over the state and outside the state are coming to have the darshan of the Mother. Especially on the eighth, ninth and tenth days and the last three days, there is a possibility of a large crowd of devotees in the temple. The temple administration has made extensive arrangements to keep this crowd at bay.
Navaratri begins from the Pratipada tithi of the Ashwin Shukla Palka. However, this time, everyone is in a dilemma about Navaratri. Some say it will start on September 22nd, while others think it will be on September 23rd.
In reality, however, it will start from 1:23 PM on September 22nd and will continue till 2:55 PM on September 23rd. For this reason, Sharadya Navratri will start from September 22nd.
Sharadya Navratri ends with Kanya Puja on the eighth and ninth tithi, which gives full results to the devotees and brings happiness and prosperity in life.
According to the Hindu calendar, the auspicious time for Ghatnaasi on September 22, 2025 will be from 06:09 AM to 08:06 AM. Devotees will get about two hours to install the Kalash. During this time, you can Ghatnaasi and worship Goddess Durga at any time.
The eighth day of Sharadya Navratri will be from 04:31 PM on September 29th to 06:06 PM on September 30th. The Kanya Puja of the eighth tithi will be held on September 30th.
Similarly, the ninth tithi of the bright half of Ashwin will begin on September 30th at 06:06 PM and will end on October 1st at 07:01 PM. In such a situation, the Kanya Puja of the ninth will be held on October 1st.
Due to this, there is one more Navaratri in Sharadiya Navaratri this year. Navaratri will begin on September 22nd and end on October 1st at 07:01 PM.
