Welding of Barricades – Now an Iron Wall Will Be Permanent

The iron barricades placed on the front and rear paths of Jantar Mantar are now being permanently strengthened. Artisans deployed at the spot are welding the barricades together using heavy machines. The main objective of this new exercise is to draw a solid and unbreakable boundary line around the protest site, which no aggressive crowd can easily cross. By connecting all the barricades together, an impenetrable iron enclosure is being prepared.

During the aggressive protests led recently under the banner of the Cockroach Janata Party, it was observed that the huge crowd of protesters easily pushed down or removed the police barricades. To find a permanent solution to this problem, the Delhi Police and administration have chosen this new path. Now, if a large protest takes place in the future and the crowd tries to advance, knocking down or uprooting these welded and heavy barricades will be next to impossible.

At present, very strict and unprecedented security arrangements have been made at Jantar Mantar. The entire area has been converted into a cantonment. Along with Delhi Police, multiple units of paramilitary forces and other central security forces are alert 24 hours at the spot. This action of the administration to solidify the barricades is taking place at a time when dozens of students associated with left-wing student organizations have suddenly reached Jantar Mantar. These students have strongly opposed this siege by the police and the police action being taken against the protesting youth. The students say that the government and administration are constantly breaking promises made to the youth. They have demanded that punitive action against innocent students and protesters be stopped immediately.
